Holy Week & Easter @ Messiah

 

The world feels uncertain. Hearts are heavy. And yet—this ancient story still unfolds.

Holy Week invites us to walk with Jesus through love and betrayal, through sorrow and silence, all the way to the deep joy of Easter morning. It’s not a story that asks us to pretend everything is fine—it meets us right in the middle of our questions, grief, and longing.

At Messiah, we enter this story together—through quiet services, shared meals, honest prayer, and music that stirs the soul. Whether you come every Sunday or haven’t been in years, there’s room for you here.

Come to remember.
Come to grieve.
Come to hope again. 

 

Maundy Thursday Worship (4/17) - 6:30 pm - in the sanctuary. TOn Maundy Thursday, we remember Jesus’ final meal with his friends, and his command to love one another as he has loved us. This service is reflective, sacred, and rooted in community, forgiveness, and grace. All are welcome to the table. This service will be in person, livestreamed and radio broadcast (101.9FM) 

Good Friday Worship (4/18) - 6:30 pm - in the sanctuary. Join us for a Tenebrae (service of shadows) as we journey through the story of Jesus’ final hours. This ecumenical service—shared with our neighbors from St. Paul’s Episcopal and First Presbyterian—moves from light into darkness as scripture, silence, and song shape our worship. Interested in singing with the combined choir? Rehearsal is at 5:30 PM. This service will be in person, livestreamed and radio broadcast (101.9FM) 

Easter Vigil Worship (4/19) – 5:00 pm - in the sanctuary. The Easter Vigil is a vibrant, joyful service that begins in darkness and bursts into light. We’ll hear stories of God’s faithfulness through dramatic readings, music, and movement. This service is especially engaging for children and families—but meaningful for all ages. This service will only be in person.

Easter Sunday (4/20):

6:30 am Sunrise worship at McCarty’s Cove. Yes, it’ll be cold. Yes, it’ll be beautiful. Bring your coziest layers, a folding chair, and whatever hope you’ve got—whether it’s fierce or flickering. (In-person only)

8:30 am Traditional Easter Worship (sanctuary)

10:30 am Easter Worship (sanctuary)

Both in the sanctuary. Both featuring the bold, joyful sounds of a brass quintet. Both celebrating the love that carries us, even now.

Join us for festive Easter Sunday worship. A brass quintet will be with us at both services and we hope you’ll join us as we celebrate Jesus’ resurrection and God’s incredible love. Both services will be livestreamed and radio broadcast (101.9FM) Childcare is available at both services.

Dress code? Whatever Easter looks like to you.
Come weary or whole.
Come curious, cautious, hopeful, or half-awake.
Come and find that the story isn’t over.

For services that are broadcast on the radio, you can tune in at 101.9 FM. Streamed services can be viewed live (or after the broadcasted time) on Facebook, Vimeo, and YouTube. Our current weekly services are at 5:00 pm Saturday, and 8:30 am and 10:30 am on Sunday. Both Sunday services are livestreamed and the 8:30 am service is broadcast on the radio.
